Horse Haven Montana’s mission — education and understanding to enhance the Equine-Human bond and to improve the welfare and the well-being of the horse through rescue efforts, adoption of equines into permanent, responsible, caring homes, sanctuary when needed and education. We strive to meet our mission through proactive efforts, outreach and special programs as well as the EQUUS INTERNATIONAL Film Festival.

Adoption & Rescue
When we accept a horse or conduct a rescue, we focus on finding a great, forever, responsible home for that horse. Our goal is adoption with a permanent placement. We are not a sanctuary and unfortunately do not have the funds, resources nor the acreage to take in every horse that may be in need and keep it forever. We strive to rescue horses that we feel we can find excellent homes for and our goal is finding those wonderful, forever homes.

Programs
Lease/Learn/Love enables horses assessed and approved for this program to be “leased” to individuals and families while remaining in the primary care of Horse Haven. This is a great program for the horses and for children, teens, seniors, and others who simply want to experience the joy of having a horse of their own, without having full responsibility for a horse. New Beginnings, an equine assisted learning experience, helps young individuals and adults to create, cultivate and be inspired by the unique relationship and partnership that can take place with horses. We are inspired by this equine/human bond.

Equus International
EQUUS International Film Festival®
was the first international event of its kind. It was the first media event that is all equine-focused,
an international film festival and equine conference. If your interests are equine-related, this event is reaching
thousands of people worldwide and you are invited.

True to her name, Angel is a little girl’s dream pony. An Appaloosa POA, Angel was donated to Horse Haven Montana to ensure that we would find her the best home for her needs and training. We’re happy to say, Angel is living the life of equine luxury and making a 9-year old New Mexico girl very happy. A match made in heaven, Angel and her new human pal named Tiger are getting to know each other on a beautiful ranch with other horses and gentle, slow trail rides, exactly what both the little girl and the little pony were looking for. Happy Trails!
